दीक्ष्     

दीक्ष् [dīkṣ]   1 Ā. (दीक्षते, दीक्षित)
To consecrate or prepare oneself for the performance of a sacred rite; दीक्षयस्व त्वमात्मानम् [Mb.14.71.21;] see दीक्षित below.
To dedicate oneself to.
To initiate or introduce a pupil.
To invest with the sacred thread.
To sacrifice.
To practise self-restraint.
To shave one's head, to be shaved.
