बकुलः [bakulḥ]   1 A kind of tree, Mimusops Elengi, (said according to the convention of poets to put forth blossoms when sprinkled by young women with monthfuls of wine); काङ्क्षत्यन्यो (केसरः or बकुलः) वदनमदिरां दोहदच्छद्यनाऽस्याः [Me.8;] बकुलः सीधुगण्डूषसेकात् (विकसति); तव निश्वसितानुकारिभिर्बकुलैरर्धचितां समं मया [R.8.64;] (for similar conventions about other trees see the quotation under अशोक).
