   sacaṇī f C esp. R & W and at Ratnagiri--Drinking money given by a Khot among the cultivators of his village, to induce them to cultivate largely in the following year. Ex. माघापा- सून मृगसालापर्यंत खोत कुळास स0 देतो. सचणी differs from पोस्त, being given before the rains, and solely as a stimulus to cultivation.
