A cavity made around the foot of trees to receive water: or in a heap of earth or lime of which mud or mortar is to be made: or in a garden-bed or field banked around for the reception of a pompion-melon-or cucumber seed, and retention of the water given. v कर for the first clause, v घाल for the second. 2 A couple of Brinjal, Chili &c. plants, as just transplanted. 3 A sort of harrow. This is the term in अष्टागरप्रांत for डिफळा elsewhere. 4 The mark used in books and writings before the figures denoting measures, whether of weight or capacity; as before the denoting figure one maund, before that of one sher, or one páyí, before टांक: also used before the figures denoting án̤ás, pies &c. वृक्षाच्या बुंध्याशीं पाणी सांचण्याकरितां केलेला खळगा ; माती , चुना यांचा चिखल - रद्दा करण्याकरितां केलेली खळी ; भोंपळा , पडवळ इत्यादींचीं बीजें रुजविण्याकरितां व पाणी ठरुन राहण्याकरतां केलेला मातीचा उंचवटा . अळेवाफे - भोंपळा , दोडका , इ० वेल लावण्यासाठीं केलेलें अळें वगैरे . काय ? यंदां अळेवाफे कांहीं लावलेस कीं नाहीं ?
वांगीं , मिरच्या इ० कांचें खळींत एकेक लावलेलें रोप . अशांच्या समुदायांना दंड म्हणतात .
