AVIMUKTA(M)   The middle part of the city of Kāśī. There is a holy temple here. It is said that those who commit suicide in this temple would attain heaven. [Vana Parva, Chapter 64, Stanzas 78 and 79] . For more information see the word Divodāsa.

अविमुक्त     

अविमुक्त [avimukta] a.  a. Unloosed, not quitted or let go.
-क्तः   The Lord of Benares; प्रीतोऽविमुक्तो भगवांस्तस्मै वरमदाद्भवः [Bhāg.1.66.29.]
क्तम् N. of a Tīrtha or sacred place near Benares, or Benares itself; न विमुक्तं शिवाभ्यां यदविमुक्तं ततो विदुः.

-कः  N. N. of a plant (Mar. कुसरी).-Comp.
-आपीडः  N. N. of a king. Rāj. T.
-ईश्वरः   a celebrated Śiva-liṅga at Benares.
