The crest or comb of a cock.
The root of an elephant's ear. [Mātaṅga. L.6.9.]
(In dramas) The hinting or indication of the occurrence of any event by characters behind the stage; अन्तर्जवनिकासंस्थैः सूचनार्थस्य चूलिका [S. D. 31;] e. g. in the beginning of the 4th Act of [Mv.]
The crest (?) of a bow; प्रथमं चापमारोप्य चूलिकां बन्धयेत्ततः । स्थानकं तु ततः कृत्वा बाणोपरि करं न्यसेत् ॥ [Dhanur.118.]
