रोमन्थः [rōmanthḥ]   [रोगं मथ्नाति मन्थ्-अण् पृषो˚ गलोपः [Tv.] ]
Ruminating, chewing the cud; उद्गीर्णस्य वा अवगीर्णस्य वा मन्थो रोमन्थः Mbh.; छायाबद्धकदम्बकं मृगकुलं रोमन्थमभ्यस्यतु [Ś.2.6.]

1. Ruminating, chewing the cud, or also eating, without chewing what has been once swallowed and agian brought into the mouth.
2. Frequent repetition.
E. रोग disease, and मन्थ् to destroy or remove, aff. अच्, deriv. irr.; this habit in animals being indispensible to digestion and health.
