शूर्   (also written सूर्) cl. 4. Ā. ( [Dhātup. xxvi, 48]) शूर्यते, to hurt, injure, kill (only in pf. शुशूरे, ‘he cut off [the head]’ [Śiś. xix, 108]);

to be or make firm, [Dhātup.]; ib.;

cl. 10. Ā. to be powerful or valiant (in this sense rather Nom. fr. next), [Dhātup. xxxv, 48.]

To act the hero, be powerful.
