शूर्

शूर्   (also written सूर्) cl. 4. Ā. ([Dhātup. xxvi, 48] ) शूर्यते, to hurt, injure, kill (only in pf.शुशूरे, ‘he cut off [the head]’ [Śiś. xix, 108] );
to be or make firm, [Dhātup.] ; ib.;
cl. 10. Ā. to be powerful or valiant (in this sense rather Nom.fr. next), [Dhātup. xxxv, 48.]

शूर्     

शूर् [śūr]   I. 4 Ā. To hurt, injure, kill; शुशूरेऽरिशिरः शरैः [Śi.19.18.] -II. 1 U. (शूरयति-ते)
To act the hero, be powerful.
To make vigorous extertions; see शुर् also.
