The day of new moon, at Pauḍharpúr, of मार्गशीर्ष, in some other parts, of कार्तिक. On this day, the last of the जत्रा, the people scour the rocks in the river, and eat their meal upon them, in honor of a मूर्ति of the god कृष्ण in the river, named वेणुनाद from the Flute-playing of कृष्ण. Hence the derivation above.
