प्लीहन्

प्लीहन्  m. m. the spleen (from which and from the liver the Hindūs suppose the blood to flow), [AV.] ; [VS.] ; [ŚBr.] ; [Suśr.]
disease of the spleen (said to be equally applied to enlargement of the mesenteric glands &c.), [Suśr.]
प्लीहन्   [Orig. स्प्लीहन्; cf.Gk.σπλήν, σπλάγχνον; Lat.lien for स्प्लिहेन्; Slav.slezena for splezena; Eng. spleen.]

प्लीहन्     

प्लीहन् [plīhan]  m. m. The spleen or its enlargement (प्लिहन् also); [Y.3.94;] [Mv.5.19.] -Comp.
-अरिः  N. N. of the fig-tree.-उदरम् enlargement of the spleen.
-उदरिन् a.  a. suffering from enlargement of the spleen.

प्लीहन्

प्लीहन्  m.  (-हा) The spleen; the organ or the disease of it, as in Eng- lish; in the latter sense, however, it is equally applied to the enlargement of the mesenteric glands, &c.
E. प्लिह् to increase, Unādi aff. कनिन्, and the vowel made long; otherwise being प्लिहन्; and
ROOTS:
प्लिह् कनिन् प्लिहन्;
with and टाप् affs., and the vowel long or short प्लिहा or प्लीहा .
