वासवी n.  सत्यवती (मत्स्य.गंधा) का पैतृक नाम [म. आ. ५७.५७] । यह उपरिचर वसु की कन्या थी, जिस कारण इसे यह पैतृक नाम प्राप्त हुआ। इसकी माता का नाम अद्रिका था, जो स्वयं एक मत्स्यी थी । इसका विवाह पराशर ऋषि से हुआ था, जिससे इसे व्यास नामक पुत्र उत्पन्न हुआ [वायु. १.४०] ।
