1. The para- dise or world of Vaikuṇṭha or VISHṆU; its site is variously des- cribed, either as in the northern ocean, or on the eastern peak of mount Meru.
2. Talc.
E. विकुण्ठा the wife of ŚUBHRA, and mother of VISHṆU, in one form,
अण् patronymic aff.: other etymologies occur, as
वि privative, &c. and
कुण्ठ said to mean destruction, he who is indestructible; or
वि before the same, explained knowledge or abode, being omniscient or omnipresent, &c.; again
वि various, and
कुण्ठ illusion, aff.
