पशु—पति  m.  m. ‘lord of animals’ (or ‘ l° of a servant named पशु’ or ‘ l° of the soul’ [RTL. 89]), N. of the later रुद्र- शिव or of a similar deity (often associated in the वेद with भव, शर्व, उग्र, रुद्र, महा-देव, ईशान and others who together with भीम are in later times regarded as manifestations of रुद्र), [AV.] &c. &c.
