to be or become weary or tired, be tired of doing anything (with inf.; also impers.न॑ मा श्रमत्, ‘may I not become weary!’), [RV.] &c. &c.;
to make effort, exert one's self (esp. in performing acts of austerity), labour in vain, ib. :
Pass.श्रम्यते (aor.अश्रामि, Gr.), [MBh.] ; [Kāv.] &c. (cf.वि-√ श्रं) :
Caus.स्रामयति (aor.अशिश्रमत्), to make weary, fatigue, tire, [Kām.] ; [Hariv.] ; [Subh.] ;
to overcome, conquer, subdue, [R.] ;
(श्रामयति), to speak to, address, invite (आमन्त्रणे), [Dhātup. xxxv, 40] (v.l. for ग्राम्°cf.ग्रामय) :

श्रम्     

श्रम् [śram]   4 P. (श्राम्यति, श्रान्त)
To exert oneself, take pains, toil, labour.
To perform austerities, mortify the body (by act of penance); कियच्चिरं श्राम्यसि गौरि [Ku.5.5.]
To be wearied or fatigued, be exhausted; रतिश्रान्ता शेते रजनिरमणी गाढमुरसि [K. P.1;] [Śi.14.38;] [Bk.14.11.]
To be afflicted or distressed; यो वृन्दानि त्वरयति पथि श्राम्यतां प्रोषितानाम् [Me.11.] -Caus. (श्र-श्रा- मयति-ते) To cause to be fatigued &c.
To overcome, conquer, subdue.
