ज्वल्

ज्वल्   cl. 1. P.ज्व॑लति (ep. also Ā.; p.°लत्; aor.अज्वालीत्, [Pāṇ. 7-2, 2] ; 3. pl.अज्वलिषुर्, [Bhaṭṭ. xv, 106] )
to burn brightly, blaze, glow, shine, [TS. i] ; [ŚBr.] ; [Gobh.] ; [MBh.] &c.;
to burn (as a wound), [Suśr.] :
Caus.ज्वलयति or ज्वाल्°, to set on fire, light, kindle, make radiant, illuminate, [GopBr. ii, 5, 5] (Ā.), [MBh.] &c.:
Intens.जाज्वलति ([MBh.] ) or °ल्यते ([Pāṇ. 3-1, 22] ; [Kāś.] ; p.°ल्यमान)
to flame violently, shine strongly, be brilliant, [MBh.] ; [R.] ; [VP. iii, 2, 10] ; [Rājat. i, 154.]

ज्वल्     

ज्वल् [jval]   1 P. (ज्वलति, ज्वलित)
To burn brightly, blaze, glow, shine; ज्वलति चलितेन्धनोऽग्निः [Ś.6.3;] [Ku. 5.3.]
To be burnt up, be consumed or afflicted (as by fire) अमृतमधुरमृदुतरवचनेन ज्वलति न सा मलयजपवनेन [Gīt.7.]
To be ardent; जज्वाल लोकस्थितये स राजा [Bk.1.4.]
To burn (as a wound). -Caus. (ज्वलयति-ते, ज्वालयति-ते, but प्रज्वलयति)
To set on fire, light, kindle.
To irradiate, illuminate, brighten.
