A Sanskrit phrase in common use, indicating a sudden perception by the speaker of the superlativeness or indefiniteness of some quality of which he had begun to mention the existence in particular instances or certain degrees; and a hurriedness in consequence to cease from particularizing, and to close the account of it; or indicating a conviction that the actual truth of a matter, actual probability of an occurrence &c., so exceeds the degree implied by the moderate language he is using, as to demand from him, and to secure him from the charge of exaggeration in employing, terms of the strongest, the most positive, or the most comprehensive import. Ex. It thus answers to Quid amplius? cur plurima dicam? in short, to be brief, nay.
