-यी  f. f.) [शी-अच्] lying down, sleep ing (usually at the end of comp.); रात्रिजागरपरो दिवाशयः [R.19.34;] so उत्तानशय, पार्श्वशय, वृक्षेशय, विलेशय &c.
   यः sleep.
   A bed, couch; मायाशये शयाना मे नाद्यापि पुन- रुत्थिताः [Bhāg.1.13.41.]
