भामिनीविलासे
शुक्जति मञ्जु मिलिन्दे मा मालति मौनसुपयासीः ।
शिरसा वदान्यगुरवः सादरमेनं वहन्ति सुरतरक ॥ १८ ॥
यैस्त्वं गुणगणवानपि सतां द्विजिह्वैरसंव्यतां नीतः ।
तानपि वहसि पटीरज किं कथयामस्त्वदीयमौन्नत्यम् ॥ १९ ॥
गाहितमखिलं विपिनं परिता दृष्टाश्च विटपिनः सर्वे ।
सहकार न प्रपेदे मधुपेन भवत्समं जगाति ॥ २० ॥
अपनीतपरिमलान्तरकथे पदं न्यस्य देवतरुकुसुमे ।
पुष्पान्तरेऽपि गन्तुं वाञ्छासि चेद्भमर धन्योऽसि ॥ २१ ॥
तटिनि चिराय विचारय विन्ध्यकुवस्तव पवित्रायाः ।
शुष्यन्त्या अपि युक्तं किं
खलु रथ्यादकादानम् ॥ २ २ ॥
18 Do not, 0 Malati Creeper, treat the sweetly
humming bee coldly; the highly generous celestial trees
bear him respectfully on t! Leads.
19 O Sandal tree, thon Cearest even those serpents
by whom thou, endowed as thou art with a number o
good qualities, art rendered unenjuyable for good men !
How shall we (adequately) eulogize ( this ) thy
magnanimity ?
20 The whole of the forest was ransa cked, and all
the trees around were examined. But, 0 mango-tree.
thy equal was not found by the bee.
21 If, having placed thy fuot on (i. e. having
enjoyed ) the flower of the celestial tree, which far
excels (lit. which has brushed aside all talk of) other
fragrance, thou dost desire, u bee, to move to any other
flower-well, blessed art thou, then !
we (adequai-ly eulogize ( this ) thy
22 Ponder well (lit. for long). O River, whether
it is meet for thee, rising from the Vindhya mountain
and (therefore ) pure, to receive the (filthy) street-
water even while thou art drying up?
