called कालिन्दी. सुरद्रुमालम्बिनी-दुरहुमान् आलाभ्बितुं शीलं यस्या सा. Krsna's
favourite haunts were the richly verdured regions along the

For the last two ines of. अस्माकं तु तदेव लोचनचमत्काराय भूयाच्चरं
कालिन्दीषुलनोइरे किमपि य्रीलं महो धावाति ॥
Vs. 4-In this verse Krsaa is described as a Tamāla tree.
Eaaara-The interior, the inner recesses, of the forest, As
Krsna moved abont, the interior of the forest became illuminat-
ed. पथि गतागत श्रमभरम् - 1be great exhaustion produced by com-
ing up and down the road of Sansara of. पुनरपि जननं पुनरपि मरणं
पुनरपि जननीजठरे शयनम् । This ine is applicable both to an ordinary
Tamāla tree and to Krspa. Just as the ordinary Tamāla tree
relieves the fatigue of travellera on the road, Krsna removes
the distress of the souls that travel on the track of the
Sansāra-i, e. are born and reborn again and again. Taa
-Ta -The ordinary Tamāla is entwined by hundreds of cree-
pers; Krsna is surrounded by hundreds of Gopis, The woman
is often compared with a creeper entwining a tree (i, e. her
husband ). रुचा-Ingtr, Sing. of रुच्, splendour. श्रमान्- Ihe
fatigne of phenomenal existence; or hardships in life.
