complexion is dark and glossy like the cloud; therefore, he
coucludes, cãtakas which render this service are the birds of
his ehoice !
Vs. 19.- =-All-pervading, reaching everywhere.
विष्वक ( सर्वत्र) अञ्चति इति The word is formei in ৪ pecnliar wy;
विष्वक is changed bo विष्वद्रि before अञ्च्, 'विष्वन्देवयेग्रटेग्य्यञ्चतावप्रन्यये ।

lustre of Vişņu.

the conviction I' about oneself, Now, what is this I'?
To what objeet does this knowledge of 'I' refer ? Well, this
object is the Inner divinity who is Visņa. AFTT a -
स्वहृदयगर्त न विदन्ति इति. Not recognizing Him who resides in
their own hearts. Visnu, as the aa , is ever preseut in
men's hearts. Still, they run about and ask others where
Vişņu is !
Vs. 20.--Service, devotion. The reference to Visņu
as aiaa suggests that this line is addressed to one who seeks
wealth ( अर्थार्थिन् ). Cj. चतुर्विधा भजन्ते मां जनाः सुकृतिनोsर्जुन । आतो
जिज्ञापुरर्था्थी ज्ञानी च भरतर्षम ॥ Bb, C. ?. 16. चिन्ता- Contemplation.
F -Vişņu whose weapon is the discus. Tnis word suggests
that a man in dangers (a) is addressed. The poet assures
him that Visnu wields his weapon & he will surely remove the
dangers looming over his protége. I -Conversation.

Songs, stories, a ot Siva. This is the only reference
to Šiva in this Vilāsa dedicated to Krsņa or Visņu
appears somewhat strange at first sight that Jagannātha here
recommends the singing of the praises of Siva and not of Krsna.
But when it is noted that this line is addressed to a Graa ,
the reference to Śiva transpires to be intentional and justified.
